Anthony, Pacifica Quartet Tour ‘American Stories’ Album, with Works by Living Composers

This season, Anthony and the Grammy-award-winning Pacifica Quartet embark on a seven city tour in support of their new album "American Stories" (November 11, Cedille Records).  Each work on the album is by a living composer, and shares unique perspectives shaped by the American experience.

The album includes Ben Shirley: High Sierra Sonata, traversing Mr. Shirley’s journey from a life of addiction and homelessness on Los Angeles’s Skid Row to the summit of the glorious Sierra Nevadas; James Lee III: Quintet for Clarinet & String Quartet, acknowledging indigenous Americans; Richard Danielpour: Four Angels, remembering the 1973 Alabama church massacre, and Valerie Coleman: Shotgun Houses for Clarinet and String Quartet, honoring Muhammed Ali, and the community that surrounded him in his early years.
