But Metropolitan Opera clarinetist Anthony McGill played with the sort of supreme grace and legato that I never thought I’d hear from anybody other than the Philadelphia Orchestra’s departing principal clarinetist Ricardo Morales. Hmmm. Auditions, anyone?”
